Out of Guyana, land of many waters, Hails Mark Batson Guyanese Singer/Songwriter, who has delivered a
strain of Reggae Music that exuded, spirituality, culture,love and originality.
At the tender age of five (5) Mark a proud Buxtonian began his musical career. He was also Junior Calypso Monarch in the year 2000 and attained "Best New Comer" in 2009 in the Carib Soca Monarch and is currently one of the singer for the "Heat Wave" Band Guyana.He participated in the Guyana Music Festival, and grace the stages of Jamaica's Buju Banton, Cecile, Glen Washington, Turbulence, Trinidad's Machel Mantano, Farmer Nappy and Bunji Galin to name a few. He has opened at many Jam Zone Summer Festival events in Guyana, with artistes such as Shaggy, Natural Black, Morgan Heritage, Collie Budz, Duane Stephenson, Jah Cure and Akon and many more. Mark also performed on the line up of Guyana 50th Anniversary Celebration. Mark Batson has performed at 'Guyana Day' celebrations in New York 2015 and 2016, and closer to home, he was one of the main acts in French Guiana's "La Fete" French Festival.
Most recently Mark performed as a guess artist at the JARIA (Jamaica Reggae Industry Awards) 2019 awards and the Dennis Brown Trust annual reggae concert (Dennis Brown tribute concert). He also preformed at the Reggae Hostel in Kingston Jamaica as part of Reggae month in Jamaica
His hit single "Second Chance" was well received throughout the Caribbean and Europe the single peeked at #13 on the local charts. The single was also "Pepsi Song of the Day"twice.
Mark has been featured in several newspapers including the Jamaica Gleanor, Guyana Times, Stabroke News and the Guyana Chronicle.
Mark has completed his first reggae album entitled "Music Without Borders"inspired by his life experiences and is currently working on his second album . . Look out for his album and more !!!
